This isn’t just any cruise ship; the Silvershadow is that perfect blend of classic luxury and chill vibes. It holds about 388 guests, making it spacious enough to spread out but intimate enough that the crew actually knows your name and your drink preferences. All the suites on board come with ocean views (huge plus) and a butler ready to help make your trip smooth as silk. One of the things we really love is how the Silvershadow balances relaxation with plenty to do. Whether it’s energizing with complimentary Pilates and yoga classes, indulging in a spa treatment, or soaking in fine wines — yes, please. Food-wise, the options are off the charts, from French dining at La Dame to casual afternoon tea or grilling your own steak under the stars. We are planning to do it all. In the evenings, there’s always some live music or full production shows to enjoy after dinner if we want to flip the switch from chill to lively.
Our cruise kicks off in Sint Maarten — a great jumping-off point with that electric island vibe. For me, the most special part has to be ending this Caribbean adventure in Bridgetown, Barbados. My dad is from Barbados, so spending a few extra days on the island before heading back home means a lot personally. It’s that mix of family roots and tropical paradise that really hits home. Plus, escaping the cold, snowy Canadian winter for just a little bit longer feels like hitting the jackpot.
